I'm Claire, a South London-based artist with a passion for creating bold, unconventional artwork. Having built a career as a graphic designer over the past 14 years, I've developed a strong eye for composition, colour and detail. My experience in design has naturally evolved into my artistic practice, allowing me to combine technical skills with creative freedom and a love for experimentation.

Working primarily with charcoal and chalk, my drawings explore the human form, but rarely in the traditional sense. I'm fascinated by unusual perspectives, intricate details and the interplay between light and shadow. I enjoy experimenting with textures and reflective surfaces, transforming familiar subjects into something unexpected.

Alongside my drawings, I also create sculptural artwork using cement. Through my independent brand, Cement To Be London, I explore the versatility of this industrial material, transforming it into handcrafted artwork, jewellery and homeware. It's another way for me to push creative boundaries and find beauty in unexpected materials. You can explore more of my cement creations at cementtobelondon.co.uk.

Whether working with charcoal, chalk or cement, my approach remains the same: to challenge traditional ideas, experiment with materials and create something a little different.
